Who is it for?
This tube is the standard replacement for 26-inch mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, and cruisers. If your bike has 26" wheels and a Schrader valve (the wider, car-type valve), this is the tube you need. It's the most common tube size for older MTBs, leisure bikes, and many hybrid bikes sold in the UK.
Will it fit my bike?
Check two things before ordering:
- Wheel size — look for "26"" or "26 x" on the sidewall of your tyre
- Valve type — Schrader valves are wider and shorter, like a car tyre valve. Presta valves are narrower with a locking nut at the top
This tube fits tyre widths from 1.75" to 2.35". If your tyre reads 26 x 1.95, 26 x 2.10, or 26 x 2.125 — this tube fits.

Why choose this tube?
Impac is a trusted European tube brand used by independent bike shops across the UK. This tube offers reliable puncture resistance at a sensible price — it's the tube we stock and fit ourselves at Peak Bike Station. For Peak District trail riding, we recommend carrying a spare: punctures happen, and a spare tube is far better than a long walk back to Hadfield.
How to fit it
- Remove the wheel and deflate the tube fully
- Use tyre levers to unseat one side of the tyre
- Remove the punctured tube
- Lightly inflate the new tube to give it shape
- Seat the tube inside the tyre, starting at the valve
- Reseat the tyre bead by hand — avoid tyre levers if possible
- Inflate to the pressure marked on your tyre sidewall

Common questions
What size inner tube do I need for a 26-inch bike?
You need a 26" tube. Check your tyre sidewall for the width (e.g. 26 x 1.95) and match it to the tube's width range. This Impac tube covers 1.75–2.35", which fits the majority of 26" MTB and hybrid tyres.
What is the difference between Schrader and Presta valves?
Schrader valves are wider and use the same mechanism as car tyres — any garage pump will fit. Presta valves are narrower with a locking nut and require a Presta-compatible pump head. Check your current tube or wheel rim before ordering.
Can I use this tube on a hybrid bike?
Yes — provided your hybrid has 26" wheels. Many hybrid bikes use 700c (28") wheels instead, so check your tyre sidewall first.
What if my tyre is 26 x 1.75 — will this fit?
Yes. This tube covers 1.75" to 2.35" width, so 26 x 1.75 is within range.
What is the ETRTO size for a 26" tube?
The ETRTO equivalent for 26" is 559mm. If your tyre shows 559 on the sidewall, this tube is correct.
