Who is it for?
This is the ideal chain oil for UK cyclists who ride in mixed or unpredictable conditions — which, in the Peak District, means most of the year. If you ride the Longdendale Trail, High Peak routes, or commute through wet weather, TF2 All-Weather is the one bottle that covers every condition without needing to switch lubes seasonally.
Will it work on my bike?
TF2 All-Weather Chain Oil is compatible with all standard bicycle chains including 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12-speed drivetrains on road, MTB, hybrid, and e-bikes. It is suitable for both Shimano and SRAM drivetrains.

Why choose TF2 All-Weather?
Weldtite TF2 is one of the most trusted chain lubricant ranges in the UK, used by independent bike shops and home mechanics alike. The all-weather formula means you don’t need to carry two bottles or switch lubes between seasons — one application handles wet commutes, muddy trail rides, and dry summer days equally well. It’s the chain oil we recommend to most customers at Peak Bike Station as a reliable, no-fuss choice.
If you ride predominantly in dry, dusty conditions, consider our TF2 Ultra Dry Chain Wax instead. For a complete drivetrain care kit, see our Winter Drivetrain Care Kit.
How to apply
- Clean your chain first — use a degreaser if there is old lube or grime present
- Apply one drop of TF2 to each chain link while slowly rotating the pedals backwards
- Allow to penetrate for 2–3 minutes
- Wipe off excess lube with a clean cloth — excess attracts dirt
- Reapply every 100–200 miles, or after riding in wet conditions
Need to degrease first? See our Weldtite Citrus Degreaser Spray.
Common questions
What is the difference between wet lube and dry lube?
Wet lube (like TF2 All-Weather) is thicker and stays on the chain in wet and muddy conditions. Dry lube (like TF2 Ultra Dry Wax) is lighter and repels dust in dry conditions but washes off in rain. For UK riding, all-weather or wet lube is the practical choice for most of the year.
How often should I lube my bike chain?
As a general guide, lube your chain every 100–200 miles or after every wet ride. A dry, squeaky chain or a chain that skips gears is a sign it needs lubing. Over-lubing attracts dirt, so always wipe off excess.
Can I use this on an e-bike chain?
Yes — TF2 All-Weather is suitable for e-bike drivetrains. E-bike chains experience higher torque loads, so regular lubing is especially important to extend chain life.
Do I need to clean my chain before applying lube?
Yes, ideally. Applying lube over old, dirty lube creates a grinding paste that accelerates wear. Use our Citrus Degreaser to clean the chain first, then apply fresh lube once dry.
Is TF2 All-Weather suitable for winter riding?
Yes — it’s formulated for wet and muddy conditions, making it well suited to UK winter riding. For the complete winter drivetrain care solution, see our Winter Drivetrain Care Kit.
